New statistics from Denmark, show that last year 12000 women and 10000 men were hospitalized because of 'COPD' (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) also called "Smoker's lung". In both USA and Europe the number of people dying from 'COPD' (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is increasing and more women than men die from 'COPD'.
Statistics show that if women smoke the same amount of cigarettes as men, they have a greater risk of developing 'COPD'. Women have smaller lungs than men, but hormonal differences may also be part of the explanation why women's lungs are more sensitive to tobacco smoke. Early detection of the progressive disease is important to prevent further deterioration of lung functioning. Medication may easy the symptoms, but nothing is more effective than quitting smoking.
Smoke cessation campaigns have had better success helping men quit smoking than women. As many tobacco smokers know, it is very hard to quit smoking and many addicted to the nicotine in tobacco cigarettes find themselves unable to quit. Many addicted to nicotine use nicotine replacement products, but find themselves just as addicted to these as they were to getting nicotine from cigarettes. Nicotine Patches, lozenges and gum are however a healthier, safer alternative to smoking. But many people find themselves relapsing, because they miss the sensations they got from smoking.
Many people addicted to nicotine have been able to replace smoking cigarettes with a relatively new product - The Electronic Cigarette. Electronic cigarettes - are small battery driven devices that look and feel like a cigarette in the hand, and heat a solution of nicotine and propylene glycol, that produces a vapor that is inhaled, delivering only nicotine and Propylene Glycol. There is no carbon monoxide or any of the other carcinogens found in tobacco smoke, the e.cigarette gives the user that feeling of "smoking" many smokers say is difficult to replicate with most regular quit smoking devices . Most e-smokers will rapidly experience the same health benefits of quitting smoking that users of other nicotine replacement products do - a feeling of increased wellbeing and additional energy. It is worth noting that many Electronic Cigarette users said their cravings disappeared immediately they switched to their e.cig.
Many sellers of electronic cigarettes market these - personal nicotine inhalers - as smoke cessation products . This however is a false statement until clinical trials are carried out to verify such claims.
Totally Wicked E.Liquid is one of the most popular vendors of quality Electronic cigarettes and sells some of the purest nicotine E.liquid available. Totally Wicked market their products as a better and healthier alternative to smoking tobacco. For some it may be possible to quit their nicotine addiction, by gradually decreasing the strength of nicotine in the eliquids used, until only vaping 0 mg strength flavoured Eliquids. But for most it will just be a healthier alternative than using regular tobacco based cigarettes.
We hope that many more women will replace tobacco cigarettes with vaping electronic cigarettes. Just like smoking cessation campaigns, more men than women have given the new electronic cigarettes a chance and replaced tobacco cigarettes with these small nicotine inhalers. Perhaps women feel more uncertain about these electronic devices? But a growing number of women learn that they are very simple to use and are thrilled, by experiencing better health and that the vapor is odorless, does not produce unhealthy 'second hand smoke' and give them and their homes a clean feeling.
